Code of Conduct

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Mastery Tutoring is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students, parents, and tutors. By participating in our sessions, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

1. Respectful Behavior

All participants — students, parents, and tutors — are expected to treat each other with courtesy and respect. Disruptive, rude, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. We embrace diversity and prohibit discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.

2. Student Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time and prepared with necessary materials (textbooks, assignments, writing tools).
  • Participate actively and communicate openly about areas where you need help.
  • Complete any agreed‑upon practice work between sessions.
  • Refrain from using phones or other devices for non‑educational purposes during sessions.
  • Be honest about your work; do not ask tutors to complete assignments or exams on your behalf.

3. Parent & Guardian Expectations

  • Support your student’s learning by providing a quiet, distraction‑free environment for online sessions.
  • Communicate scheduling changes promptly and adhere to our Cancellation Policy.
  • Share relevant information about your child’s learning needs, IEPs, or accommodations with us.
  • Refrain from interrupting sessions; if you have concerns, arrange a separate time to speak with the tutor or our office.

4. Tutor Standards

Our tutors are held to the highest professional standards. They pledge to:

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and never engage in personal relationships with students outside of tutoring.
  • Respect student confidentiality and privacy, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Provide accurate, constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Continue their professional development and stay current in their subject areas.
  • Report any safety or conduct concerns to management immediately.

5. Academic Integrity

Tutoring is meant to enhance a student’s understanding and skills. It is not a substitute for their own effort. We will not complete homework, write essays, or take tests on behalf of students. Violations of academic integrity may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

6. Consequences for Violations

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent termination of services at our sole discretion. For tutors, violations may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

7. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code, please contact us immediately. All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly.
